Initial Research Project: Spontaneous Human Combustion
The first project of our capstone adventure was the IRT, a project where each student was given a random topic, and had to make a presentation about it in 3 slides in 3 minutes. My project was about spontaneous human combustion. In my research, I found that even though there have been hundreds of reported cases of SHC, all of these cases have involved outside ignition sources, which means the incidents were not technically SHC. This means that there has never been an official case of SHC.
My Pecha Kucha
As we ended are time in the classroom, every one had to present a pecha kucha, a 6 and a half minute presentation that consists of 20 slides, each 20 seconds long. In order to fit all the presentations in one class, we shortened the format to 10 slides each 15 seconds. My Pecha Kucha was the story of how I injured my back, and how that experience grew into why I want to become a doctor of athletic medicine.
